Az Commerce Authority $1.5M Innovation Challenge Grant Now Accepting Applications
The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) has announced its second $1.5 million Arizona Innovation Challenge, the country’s largest monetary award for a technology commercialization challenge.
The ACA will award $1.5 million to the most promising technology ventures that participate in the 2nd Arizona Innovation Challenge (awards may range from $100,000 to $250,000). Companies in the following technology sectors may apply: advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, aerospace and defense, bio and life sciences, clean-tech and renewable energy, and information technology.
In the first round of the Innovation Challenge Grants last winter, 6 of the 8 final recipients of the grants had either presented to or received funding from the Desert Angels, a Tucson-based investment group.
There is a website that has been set up for more information and application submittal:
Brian Sherman with the Arizona Commerce Authority will host a Q&A session at the Arizona Center for Innovation (9040 S. Rita Road) on Wednesday January 18 at 1pm for the Innovation Challenge grant. This is open to the public and there is no charge.
