The first Tucson edition of Local First Arizona’s Small Wonders guide hit the streets at Tucson Meet Yourself, and guides now are slowly becoming available at Downtown businesses.

The Local First Small Wonders guide is about the size of a CD.

Small Wonders is a foldable, CD-sized brochure map with 2½ -by-2½-inch photos and a description for 60 locally based businesses in Downtown, on 4th Avenue, at Main Gate Square and other nearby areas.

“This is the same size as the downtown Phoenix map,” said Deanna Chevas, Local First’s Arizona’s membership coordinator for the Tucson region. “We didn’t expect to have that size of map. I thought it would be one panel smaller.”

The color map is printed on sturdy paper stock and matches Small Wonders guides in Scottsdale, Tempe, Downtown Phoenix, Glendale and Verde Valley.

“It’s meant to stay in your car,” Chevas said. “We designed and printed it to last a year to 18 months.”

Maps are available at the offices of the Downtown Tucson Partnership, 110 E. Pennington St., 4th Avenue Merchants Association, 434 E. 9th St, and Main Gate Square, 814 E. University Boulevard, and various business and resorts.

“The purpose is to help tourists and locals find local places to eat and shop and do fun things, Chevas said.
