Santa Cruz Valley Heritage Alliance Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Free Lecture Series

One of Tucson’s preeminent historical archaeologists, J. Homer Thiel, will present “Archaeology of the Tucson Presidio,” Thursday, March 28 from noon – 1 p.m. at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave. in the lower level meeting room. The talk is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the library garage and is free for the first hour.

J. Homer Thiel has been a project director with Desert Archaeology, Inc. since 1992 and specializes in historical archaeology, genealogy, and faunal analysis.
The Santa Cruz Valley Heritage Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the cultural, historic, and natural treasures of the Santa Cruz Valley, is sponsoring the lecture series in celebration of its 10th anniversary in 2013.
