On Monday, September 9, 2013 and Tuesday, September 10, 2013, crews will begin planned testing of the Sun Link streetcar along the streetcar route. Sun Link Streetcar 101, as well as the other seven streetcars, must undergo and pass specification, performance and safety tests to be ready for passenger service in the summer of 2014.
The planned tow test of Streetcar 101 will take place over two nights, from 9 p.m. to approximately 4 a.m. each night. The streetcar will be pulled along the route to ensure proper clearances for the track and for the streetcar stops. Monday’s testing will take place along Fourth Avenue, University Boulevard and Park Avenue. Tuesday night’s testing is planned to take place along Second Street, Warren Avenue and Helen Street.
