Every year Cook for the Cure, presented by KitchenAid, raises funds for breast cancer with parties held all over the country. Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona, in association with Tucson Originals and Mercado San Agustin, is joining in the fun celebrating the talents of some of our local chefs.

The evening will include cooking demos from these fabulous Tucson Originals chefs,

• Renee Kreager from Renee’s Organic Oven
• Maria Mazon from Boca
• Chris Singleton from Agustin Brasserie
• Bruce Bowden/ Jon Hall from Café 54
• Enrique Alcantar, Javier Castro & Augustine Sanchez from Casino Del Sol, PY Steakhouse
• Jim Murphy from Blue Fin

•  Celebrity bartenders – Mayor Rothschild will be making an appearance along with other local celebs
• Wine and beer tasting
• Angels By Vega art showing
• A complimentary raffle ticket for prizes that include KitchenAid small appliances, an induction oven and more!

The first 100 people through the door will receive a free cookbook of healthy recipes published by the Arizona Cancer Center.

The event takes place at downtown’s public market, Mercado San Agustin, and overlaps for an hour with the weekly Community Food Bank Farmer’s Market.

The Second Annual Cook for the Cure marks the latest in Komen Southern Arizona’s Cool Off  With Komen campaign, a summer-long series of indoor happenings to help our supporters beat the summer heat.

“Last year’s Cook for the Cure was a runaway success, and this year’s promises to be great fun, while at the same time promoting a healthy living message,” said Maria Elena Acuna, interim executive director at Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona.

The $15 per person cost for this event supports our local Susan G. Komen for the Cure Southern Arizona.  Proceeds will help local facilities educate, screen and treat the uninsured and underinsured in Tucson and the surrounding areas.
