CYBERSPUNK is a one-night-only Book Club Burlesque party inspired by William Gibson’s 1984 Science Fiction classic Neuromancer. The neon-noir novel is wrought with themes of virtual survival, man vs. machine, humanism sacrificed in the face of advancing technology, cyborg body manipulation and more.
Staged in the Steinfeld Warehouse’s 10,000 sf exhibition hall, more than 40 artists and performers will read and interpret the book into a retro-futuristic cyberpunk dystopia of installation art, film and projection, ambient performance, DJ sets, and a mainstage vaudeville-style variety show of burlesque, circus, theatre, magic and specialty acts, with a midnight finale and black light dance party.
CYBERSPUNK is a participatory and literacy event. The audience is encouraged to read the book and dress to impress in their sexiest, most creative Neuromancer inspired style.
