“Hope” – A Play
The second play in Jem Street’s trilogy on American manners and mores, “Hope” tells the story of Joe Chandler, a successful businessman who is being courted to run for the House of Representatives. In one difficult night in a Tennessee hotel room, Joe must determine whether his history, his mistakes and his regrets are political liabilities. With an infamously racist father, a brief affair, a problematic business record, and of course he “inhaled,” Joe must ask himself the irony-tinged question: am I a good enough person to be a politician?
This is a full-length play and the performance dates are Friday and Saturday July 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th at 7:30 PM and Sunday July 22nd at 2:30 PM.
Tickets are available online, over the phone or at the door. Reservations and purchases can be made at 520-885-0555.
