Living History at the Presidio
December 13, 2014 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm| Free
The Presidio San Agustin first was built in 1775 by Spanish soldiers establishing a frontier in New Spain. Today a portion of the Presidio has been reconstructed and stands on the original site in downtown Tucson.
See interpreters in Colonial dress as they take you back to Spanish Colonial Tucson and show you what daily life was like. Experience the life of soldiers who drill. The cannon will be shot hourly, right in front of you! See civilians doing daily skills: bread baking in an adobe oven, blacksmithing, and cooking tortillas.
Come see what Teodoro Romero has for sale in his store and be entertained by local Indian flute players. Visit the Presidio every second Saturday through April for Living History Days and any Wed. thru Sun. from 11 – 4 for docent tours and other demonstrations.
