Drawing on years of reporting, in Detained and Deported: Stories of Immigrant Families Under Fire, Tucson Weekly columnist Margaret Regan addresses the treatment of undocumented immigrants ensnared by the US detention and deportation system, the largest in the world, and demonstrates how draconian policies have broadened police powers, while enriching a private prison industry whose profits are derived from human suffering. 5pm, March 14th, Second Saturday. In conjunction with the exhibition, Mark Klett: Then+Now, featuring a selection of photographs from the new Camino del Diablo series, for which Klett revisited the infamous road, once travelled by young mining engineer Raphael Pumpelly, and documented in his 1869 memoire, Across America and Asia.
