Perla Segovia: Sculptures on Display
October 1 - October 31| Free
The sculptures of Perla Segovia will be on display during regular library hours throughout the month of October.
Artist Statement: I have always been a very curious person and that has played a big part in my artistic development. What I enjoy most about my work is the fact that every piece I create inspires me to create something new. Consequently, each piece of art becomes part of an endless chain reaction that sparks my curiosity and love for color and technique. My professional training is in textile design, I hold a Bachelor’s of Science in Textile Technology from North Carolina State University. I also hold a fashion degree from Istituto Callegari in Italy. And last but not least, I have trained in the art of glass fusing where I incorporate my knowledge of weaving and patternmaking. My designs are often influenced by the landscape from my native Peru and the diverse landscapes from my travels. I hope you enjoy my work, that it sparks your curiosity and instills in you the desire to create.
