Tucson Art Press Exhibit (TAPE!)
April 18, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 7:00 pm| $6.00
The first annual Tucson Art Press Exhibit (TAPE!) is a two-day event, held at the Tucson Convention Center in the Grand Ballroom April 18th & 19th, 2015. Saturday hours are 10am to 7pm and Sunday times are 10am to 5pm. The price for admission is $6 for the entire weekend, while kids 12 and under are free.
TAPE! is a sister event to the Tucson Comic Con, which is also held annually at the convention center. While the Tucson Comic Con is a broader event, with a focus on bringing national creators to Tucson, the goal of TAPE! is to spotlight local Arizona talent in all avenues of the art world.
Mike Olivares, Tucson Comic Con Director and Founder, explains: “Comic books are an essential part of TAPE!, but we also want to focus on a broader range of art mediums within the community: everything from independent printers to custom clothing and toys, as well as incorporating local businesses and shops catering to the masses.”
Some examples of artists at this year’s event include Rudy Flores, Danny Martin, and Rob Ozborne, just to name a few. TAPE! exhibitors will showcase and sell anything from original art and prints, to custom clothing, jewelry, and toys. Some art will even be made exclusively for this year’s show.
In addition, there will be charitable costume and fan groups at TAPE! They will be on hand to interact with those attending the show, as well as to provide information on their organization and other events in which they participate. Attendees are also encouraged to dress up for the event.
Tickets for TAPE! can be purchased in advance or on the day of the show through the Tucson Convention Center box office.
