Read in the Rain Week
Celebrate Monsoon Read in the Rain Week August 6th-10th at the Friends of the Pima County Public Library Downtown Book Store in the Joel Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave. Buy great used books at great prices. Open Monday-Friday 11 am -2 pm.
The Friends is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization which redistributes recently discarded library books and gently-used donated books to provide funding for Tucson library projects. Drop-in Job Help
Our computer instructor is available to answer any questions you might have on a wide variety of computer topics. Topics include resume writing, online job searching, email accounts, Internet searching and more. Signup is not required.

Meet Me at Maynards (@Hotel Congress)
Southern Arizona Roadrunners’ Monday evening, non-competitive, social 3-mile run/walk, Meet Me at Maynards, begins and ends downtown at Hotel Congress.
Every Monday, rain or shine, and holidays too!
Street parking free after 5:00.
Pennington Street Garage, Depot Garage, Centro Garage – $3 for 2-3 hours.
- Check-in begins at 5:15 PM (come early…avoid lines) Stays open until 7:00
- Begin your walk/run at any time. Be sure to check in every time

Flamenco Technique & Palmas Workshop
Flamenco Technique & Palmas Workshop taught by special guest artist Barbara Schuessler aka Barbara “La Flamencista”. Palmas (rhythmic hand clapping) to various flamenco rhythms will be taught, as well as some rhythmic footwork technique. No shoes necessary. This intensive requires no previous experience in flamenco. Experience the rhythms of the cante jondo and the cante chica.
Mondays (August 6, 13, 20) 7:00-8:00 pm
Saturdays (August 11, 18) 2:00-3:30 pm
$65 whole workshop or $15 per class.
