Go shopping at Main Gate. Enjoy lunch on Fourth Avenue. Catch a show on Congress by that new local band you’ve heard so much about. Grab a late night snack on the way back to your house near the Mercado. You can design your day downtown without worrying about parking or traffic thanks to the fun new Modern Streetcar.

The Modern Streetcar Project is an exciting and green form of transportation coming to Downtown. The four-mile Streetcar route will preserve the city’s center historic district while connecting destinations and encouraging economic development.

Tucson’s Modern Streetcar will improve transit service and will be a cool and unique way to get from the the Farmer’s Market at the Mercado on the west side of I-10 to the basketball game at the University of Arizona, and everywhere in between.

Construction is under way and scheduled completion is 2013.
