Downtown Tucson is beginning to see a convergence of public and private investment not seen in many years. Rio Nuevo is the City’s Downtown redevelopment effort, and its commitment of over $120 million in tax-increment-funding over the next decade is inspiring private investors to begin revitalizing—building housing, rehabilitating commercial space, and bringing new business to Downtown.
Several key transportation improvements are planned for the next few years that will help travelers get to and around downtown, while enhancing economic development by improving access and promoting walkable urbanity.
