Dillinger Days weekend begins with the Dillinger Speakeasy, an exclusive Hotel Congress experience to travel back to the 1930s. Celebrate the first night of Dillinger Day’s weekend with tastings from an extensive list of the finest American whiskeys, delicious food, live music, premium cigars, a live gun show, era related entertainment, and new this year, prohibition-era gin tastings! The proceeds from the event go to the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation to raise funds to assist with the unmet fire-service community needs in the areas of advanced training, technology, survivor's help, education campaigns, firefighter health and wellness, and other support services.

Throughout the night bottles of whiskeys will be opened for tasting, but not just any whiskeys, only the best at Hotel Congress! Our focus will be traveling the US through this distillate, featuring the best from our region. To wet your whistle, here are a few whiskeys to get excited for:

  • Jefferson's Ocean: A bourbon aged at sea. Temperature fluctuations, saltwater air exposure, and constant motion of the ship created a unique flavor profile: a dark bourbon, with caramel flavors reminiscent of a dark rum, and a briny, savory flavor due to the salt-water air that resembles an Islay Scotch. — The Whiskey Wash

  • St. George Lot 19: "Able to mount a strong argument for being the best single malt in America." — Paste MagazineCraft Whiskey of the Year (2014) — Whisky Advocate

"Like no other whiskey ever. A rainbow of sweet fruit and flower aromas you can scarcely believe come from grain, and an amazing smoothness on the palate." — Los Angeles Times

"Might just be the best U.S. single malt available today."
    — 1001 Whiskies You Must Taste Before You Die

  • Rogue Spirits Oregon Rye:
2018: Double Gold - Cigar & Spirits: World Spirits Competition
2018: Gold - Los Angeles International Spirits Competition
2018: Bronze - International Whisky Competition
2018: Silver - San Francisco World Spirits Competition
2018: Best Oregon Whisky, Third Place - International Whisky Competition

  • Old Forester 1910: "On October 22nd, 1910, a fire on the bottling line halted production of Old Forester. Mature whiskey ready to be bottled instead was stored in a secondary barrel. What emerged was a delightful whiskey, remarkable enough to become an entirely new expressions." – Old Fine Whisky

These bottles and many others will bring the heat all night long!

The delicious Speakeasy menu offers a wide array of irresistible fare that pairs perfectly with American whiskeys! With the party now expanded throughout the first floor of Hotel Congress, food will be available in multiple locations to satisfy your cravings throughout the night! Speakeasy Menu
