Solar Power 101
Mayor Jonathan Rothschild presents Solar Power 101—an ongoing community education series on solar energy. Tucson has been recognized as a Solar America City by the Department of Energy. The Solar Power 101 series offers practical information and industry updates for those interested in residential solar power.
Mayor Rothschild is partnering with Pima Association of Governments and the Southern Arizona Regional Solar Partnership to make possible quality presentations on a variety of solar-related topics.

Model Building for Kids
Local club of dedicated model-builders will offer a special model-making event for children. Kids ages 6 and up will have a choice of building either an F-14 Tomcat (airplane) or a Hummer (car).

Models that Tell a Story: the Art of Dioramas and Vignettes
Amazing scale models will return to the Joel Valdez Library for the month of May. In addition to a wide variety of models-types (military, ships, figures, space, science-fiction, etc.), members will include a special display highlighting the art of dioramas and vignettes. These are models that “tell a story” to the viewer, and have often been described as being “3-dimensional paintings”.
On Saturday, May 26 (10am – noon), there will be a special model-making event for children in the café/lounge area.
This event is free. The models are on display every day from May 1-31, Mon-Wed 9-8, Thu 9-6, Fri 9-5, Sat 10-5, Sun 1-5.

A job counselor from Career Services Unlimited will provide free, one-on-one career counseling on topics including resume writing, choosing a career, updating your interviewing, networking and job search skills, and more.
Walk-ins are welcome. No appointment is necessary, but sessions are limited to 30 minutes.
