SAHBA home show comes with free parking at TCC

The Southern Arizona Home Builders Association Home & Garden Show – the best home show ever built just got better!  This locally produced home show featuringTucson businesses runs Sept. 30, Oct. 1 and 2 at theTucsonConvention Center,260 S. Church Avenue.

For the first time ever, public parking is free in all TCC lots, complements of SAHBA.

Show hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Friday is 50/50 Day with half-price admission for those 50 and over.

Home Depot Home Services and Cox Home Security joins long-time sponsors Patio Pools & Spas, Bedmart, Kinetico Water Systems and Southwest Gas.

More seminars and more things to see and do have been added to this year’s show.  Home Depot’s team will hold home improvement seminars all weekend on their stage in the arena.

Local media personality Jimmy Stewart will host the SAHBA home improvement stage in the exhibition hall. The stage will feature seminars on solar for your home, home security, energy efficiency, pool safety, gardening and sleep patterns.

In the ballroom, Michaels Craft Stores will be hosting their “Michaels Where Creativity Happens” stage with seminars on cake decorating, scrap booking, knitting, crocheting, and face painting for the kids.

SAHBA Central will feature remodelers, custom builders, and green build experts who will be available to meet with individual guests. They will offer free professional advice on your home projects. Guests are encouraged to bring their home improvement and remodeling plans and “Meet the Experts”.  SAHBA Central will have special slot machine for guests to try their luck at a free chance to win one of 200 prizes being offered throughout the weekend.

Sonoita Vineyards will be on hand with free wine tasting and food pairings daily.

A special feature at this show is the Great American Muralist Competition, a professional muralist competition sponsored by Annie Margarita Studios, Fred Soto Canvas, Bushi Restaurants, Cemrock and Dunn Edwards Paint. The competition is open to all muralists. Timed mural painting competitions will take place Friday and Saturday during show hours and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 20 muralists are expected to be painting in the arena during the show.

 $2 off discount admission coupons are available at, Patio Pools & Spas, Home Depot, Michaels, and all Circle K stores.

General admission is $8 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Friday is 50/50 Day with half-price admission for those 50 and over. Half-price military discounts are available all three days with ID.

In addition to free parking at TCC lots, free parking is also available Saturday and Sunday at the City/State garage atManning House Wayand West Congress. Street parking meters are free Saturday and Sunday.
