TEP Headquarters

November 1, 2011

A LEED Gold Certified building, the exterior of the new facility is clad in high-efficiency glass, while the interior features energy-saving lights, HVAC units and other energy efficient mechanical systems. A rainwater harvesting system ensures all landscaping needs are met with recycled water, and a photovoltaic array helps power both the building and electric vehicle charging stations for employees and visitors. The nine-story building, completed in November 2011,  provides 170,000 square feet of office space for more than 425 employees of Tucson Electric Power (TEP), in the heart of downtown Tucson. The building also includes nearly 11,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space as well as a conference center, meeting rooms and about 500 parking spaces. Total square footage of the project is approximately 200,000.

TEP’s solar-powered, energy-efficient Corporate Headquarters was certified in October 2012 by the U.S. Green Building Council as a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold property.
