Judge the World’s Best Margaritas at the Tucson Museum of Art
October 18, 2012
Downtown will get the second stop in the 2012 Tucson Culinary Festival with the World Margarita Championship staged Oct. 26 at the Tucson Museum of Art from 6 to 9 p.m.
This marks the sixth year of this exciting event that features mixologists representing 15 Tucson Originals member restaurants competing for both the Judges Award and the People’s Choice award using one of the premium sponsored tequilas.
Throughout the evening, competing mixologists will take to the demonstration stage (2 at a time) to create their custom version of the “classic” margarita for a panel of distinguished judges.
Guests at the event will each vote for their favorites as they make their way through the event, tasting each different offering. Food at the event will be prepared by Tucson Originals chefs, featuring dishes specially created to pair with the margaritas.
The 2012 World Margarita Championship finalist list includes: Agustin Brasserie, Dakota Cafe, Jonathan’s Cork, Noble Hops Gastropub, The Parish, Kingfisher Bar and Grill, Boca Tacos and Tequila, Lodge on the Desert, Renee’s Organic Oven, Cushing Street Bar & Grill, Bella D’Auria Ristorante, Marina Terra Hotel & Spa, La Fuente, The Tequila Factory at Casino del Sol Resort and Chad’s Steakhouse & Saloon.
Admission to the World Margarita Championship is $45 per person in advance ($60 after Oct. 24). Prior to Friday, October 25, tickets may be purchased on line at www.tucsonculinaryfestival.com or by calling 520-304-6717.
