The Tucson Pima Arts Council invites the public to a reception on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 5.30 to 7 PM in order to meet the artists featured in Navigations, an exquisite exhibition of paintings and mixed media on display now in the Pioneer Building in Downtown Tucson.

In the abstractions of Bob Kray II and Archie Sutton, one finds shimmering, varicolored and patterned surfaces that reveal the movement of pigment. In the figurative imagery of Kevin Barbro and Michelle Rouch, one finds nostalgic references to flight or travels into the recesses of memory and experience.

From the abstract to the narrative and pictorial, all of the works on display engage the eye in visual exploration, whether over formalistic fields of color and texture or through landscapes of memory and sensation and even into outer space.

Navigations remains on display through January 10th . This is the first show in a new season of exhibitions curated by Sally Krommes, TPAC Public Art Coordinator. All artists were selected by a panel made up of arts professionals and community members. Exhibitions run for approximately 3 months and feature a public reception.
