Meet Me Downtown Night Run/Walk – Travel Information

Downtown is the host of the Seventh Annual Meet Me Downtown Night Run/Walk on June 1, 2013.  The main run/walk begins at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.  There is also a free Children’s 1 mile run/walk starting at 6:30 p.m. For more information on the Meet Me Downtown Night Run/Walk, please visit: http://www.azroadrunners.org/races/detail/mmd

Below is the vehicular travel restrictions associated with this event. Please note that pedestrian and bicycle access is being maintained in and around road closures. Businesses, parking garages and parking lots are open and accessible. There are over 15,000 available parking spaces in the Downtown Tucson. Attendees parking within the surrounding neighborhoods should exercise caution to not block private driveways, or to park too close (within 30 feet) to intersections, and should observe any posted permit parking restrictions. Visitors coming to downtown from the south may use either Fourth Avenue or Tenth Avenue during the time of the street closures.

Meet Me Downtown Night Run/Walk – Beginning Saturday, June 1, 2013, at approximately 4 p.m. Sixth Avenue will be closed between  12th Street and 21st Street. Also at 4 p.m. Fifth Avenue, Stone Avenue and Church/Convent/Eighth Avenue will be closed between 14th Street and 21st Street. All streets should reopen by 10 p.m.


 Motorists driving in the this area may experience traffic delays associated with this event and several road improvement projects, including the Sun Link Tucson Streetcar project, so please plan accordingly. The traveling public should use caution when driving, bicycling or walking in this area.
