Downtown Tucson is less than one week away from experiencing the tastes of Obon, a contemporary sushi and ramen restaurant and bar that’s set to open August 13 on the corner of Congress Street and Fourth Avenue.

The restaurant will open to the public next week on Thursday at 4 p.m., where they’ll be limiting the food and drink service to dinner and late night hours. Owner Brandon Katz says the dinner/late night curb will be temporary for only the first weekend of the opening, introducing their regular business hours on Monday, August 17. Obon’s regular hours will be 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Monday through Friday with later closing times on the weekend.

“Training has been going on since Saturday and we are excited for everyone to see the place, taste Chef Paulo’s food, and Matt Martinez’ cocktails,” says Katz.

For updates on the opening, please visit Obon’s Facebook page.

The team at Obon is still putting the finishing touches on the restaurant but here’s a sneak peek of the sights and tastes you’ll get to experience very soon:
