Tucson Kids Fest 2017 – June 25th

July 10, 2017

It was a super day at the Tucson Convention Center last Sunday!

Last weekend, radio station my92.9/iHeart Radio held their annual Tucson Kids

Fest to kick off the official start of the 2017 summer season. Downtown Tucson

Partnership was there to check out the family festivities and catch glimpses of the

heroes.

Kids were welcomed by huge signs and inflatable attractions to have a spectacular

time as they entered the main exhibitor hall, which was paraded with various rides,

games, snack bars, and even a fidget spinners pavilion right near the entrance.

Local radio stations 92.9 and 93.7 KRQ Tucson were there to pump up the jams as

kids and their families checked out booths of the very best the Tucson area has to

offer, such as Bookmans, Supercuts, Tucson Electric Power, and UA Athletics, which

were all commemorating the festival with their own games, prizes and dance

parties.

Since Sunday was themed Super-hero Day, families were invited to take photos with

their favorite comic book and local heroes, from big name fan-favorites like the webslinging

Spider-Man and royal Wonder Woman, to Tucson titans like Captain Eegee

and Premier Auto Center’s Scott Lehman, who was taking a break from being in a

pickle and donning his patriotic flag suit.

Easily, the highlight of the event was the Stunt Masters Extreme Sports Show, hosted

by Gary Laurent! The self-proclaimed 50-year old and his Gilbert-based team of

athletes dazzled the crowd with their fast paced and high-altitude tricks and

shenanigans. From riding a tiny bike that was once a shopping cart, to doing

multiple flips in the air, Gary and his team truly proved they were the masters of

stunts, making the Tucson Kids Fest all the more super.

The 2017 Tucson Kids Fest was a family friendly celebration that gave kids and their

parents a fun way to both celebrate their local community and kick off the hot

summer season in Downtown Tucson.
