Completed:

Rio Nuevo and developer Scott Stiteler expanded their existing deal related to the AC Hotel Tucson by Marriott. Stiteler, owner of HUB and Playground and land lord of Elvira’s Restaurant, (all on the 200 block of east Congress) invested an additional $3.2 million for remodeling and improvements. HUB Restaurant and Ice Creamery enhancements include expanded kitchen space, new private dining space, new larger bathrooms, new tables and chairs, new seating area, and overall better functionality for the space. Playground Bar and Lounge underwent an extensive renovation that included a new kitchen, new main bar, new state of the art equipment including sound, lighting and TV’s, new bar cinema area, new furnishings, new flooring, storage space, new offices, additional bathrooms, permanent roof structure for the rooftop patio, and additional square footage. All interior and exterior improvements were performed by Downtown Tucson based FORS Architecture + Interiors.  Elvira’s will also see some improvements.

The grand re-opening of HUB was on August 18, 2017. The grand re-opening of Playground was December 22, 2017. Elvira’s improvements are still pending.
