DoubleTree by Hilton TCC Hotel

May 13, 2019

The TCC will soon have an attached hotel to meet the demand for rooms during large trade shows like the annual Gem and Mineral Show (Rendering courtesy of Rio Nuevo).

Under Construction:

Caliber Group (Hospitality) and Ryan Companies have broken ground (as of May 13th) on a $38 million, 170-bed full-service DoubleTree branded hotel on the east side of the TCC adjacent to the current parking lot. The hotel will also include a banquet hall, meeting rooms, full-service bar, and mesquite themed restaurant.  The Rio Nuevo board signed off on an agreement in 2017 that will allow Caliber to keep a minimum of $2.5 million in sales tax revenue (Rio Nuevo portion of state sales-tax rebate program). They were also approved for a GPLET.

The developer received zoning approvals from the City Council in November 2017. Rio Nuevo Board unanimously approved funds to design and move forward with a 350-space, 4-story parking garage on the current Lot-A surface parking lot in March 2019. The garage is expected to break ground early 2020 and will serve hotel and convention center guests.

The hotel is expected to be complete by early 2021.
