DoubleTree by Hilton TCC Hotel

May 25, 2019

The TCC will soon have an attached hotel to meet the demand for hotel rooms of large trade shows like the annual Gem and Mineral Show (Renderings courtesy of Rio Nuevo/Photo DTP May 2019).

Under Construction:

On May 13th, Caliber –The Wealth Development Company (developer) and Ryan Companies (general contractor) broke ground on a $38 million, 170 room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel on the east side of the TCC on part of the current parking lot A. According to Caliber, the hotel will include four suites, one presidential suite, a second-story pool, rooftop bar, onsite restaurant, coffee bar and 4,000 square feet of meeting space.  The Rio Nuevo board signed off on an agreement in 2017 that will allow Caliber to keep a minimum of $2.5 million in sales tax revenue (Rio Nuevo portion of state sales-tax rebate program). They were also approved for a GPLET and the project is located within an opportunity zone.

The developer received zoning approvals from the City Council in November 2017. Rio Nuevo Board unanimously approved funds to design and move forward with a 350-space, 4-story parking garage on the current Lot-A surface parking lot in March 2019. The garage is expected to break ground early 2020 and will serve hotel and convention center guests.

The hotel is expected to be complete by early 2021. View a video of the construction site via Hawk View Aerial Solutions here.
