Event Navigation

Arkansas’ Adam Faucett and William Blackart are joined by Tucson local Jameson Clay Coweek for an evening of music Sunday, April 14 from eight to 10 at EXO Bar.

Adam Faucett, known for his voice that “knocks your brain into the back of your skull,”so warns The Onion A.V. Club, is on tour playing solo electric in support of his fifth and latest album, It Took the Shape of a Bird (Last Chance Records). Drawing comparisons from Tim Buckley to Cat Power to Otis Redding, It Took the Shape of a Bird is a collection of his most personal, unbodied, and darkly beautiful songs to date, a record American Songwriter described as “darkly poetic meanderings delivered with a voice at once tender and sulfurous,” and Pop Matters named to its “Top 20 Americana Albums of 2018.”

Joining Faucett is fellow Arkie, William Blackart. Blackart plays a lo-fi country brand of folk music with lyrics described as “poetic and captivating,” vocals pegged as “rough and emotive” and guitar work called “hypnotic and spare” (Dakota Discography). He is also on the road in support of a new record. “Return,” a collaboration with Faucett, was called “a showcase for Blackart’s powerful, rough-hewn poetry and spare, country-folk meditations,” by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, while There Stands The Glass described the record as “hardscrabble roots-rock, a supplemental soundtrack to the Netflix series, Ozark.”

Jameson Clay Koweek lives simply in Tucson, Arizona, where he was born.  Friend to the critters and folks alike, he has been playing music professionally since the mid 90s and is known as one of Tucson’s best guitarists.
