Adobe Brick-making Demonstration and Open House

February 10 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

| $5

Event Navigation

Watch adobe brick makers at work! You can even volunteer to try your hand at it. Mix adobe soil, straw and prickly pear juice, pack the soil in brick forms and make bricks. Afterwards, explore this four-acre re-creation of the garden at the Mission San Agustin, the farthest-north mission outpost in Arizona. The garden is located at the base of “A” Mountain in Tucson, off of Grande Ave and Mission Lane. It reconstructs different periods of the 4,000-plus-year history of agriculture in the Tucson basin. Wander among living fruit trees, vegetable gardens, a wheat field and other displays. There is a suggested donation of $5 at the garden gate.
