Free Event to mark the 25th Anniversary of the 1990 Arizona Desert Wilderness Act.

Sponsored by the Bureau of Land Management Arizona, The Wilderness Society, Arizona Wilderness Coalition, Udall Foundation, National Park Service and US Fish and Wildlife Service – join us for a night of beautiful photography and insight from a line-up of speakers and panelists:

Learn from Mark Trautwein who played a front line role in securing protection for these special places while working for Rep. Morris Udall.

Enjoy the work and reflections of Jack Dykinga, a Tucson-based, Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer with a renowned career capturing the beauty of Arizona desert wilderness.

Barbara Hawke is an accomplished conservation advocate with experience across the west and current Executive Director of the Arizona Wilderness Coalition

Christopher Cokinos is University of Arizona Associate Professor of English and Affiliated Faculty with Arizona’s Institute of the Environment, a celebrated author, and co-editor of The Sonoran Desert: A Literary Field Guide

Ray O’Neil is the Chief Ranger for Saguaro National Park and winner of the  National Park Service 2015 Wes Henry National Wilderness Stewardship Award

Sergio Avila  is a conservation scientist with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, leading collaborative efforts on wildlife habitat connectivity, restoration, education and conservation

 

Nathan Caswell is a professional wilderness steward and manager of the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge
