ART NOW! WITH BRYAN ZANISNIK

October 17 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

| Free

One of MOCA’s 2017 Artists in Residence, Bryan Zanisnik is an artist working in video, performance, photography, and installation. Known for building intricate tableaus out of mundane bric-a-brac that addresses the constantly evolving and devolving American landscape explored through hoarding, the archive, familial relationships and twentieth-century psychology. He has recently exhibited and performed at MoMA PS1, Contemporary Art and the Fabric Workshop and Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, and Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Photography.

Bryan Zanisnik will speak about his recent legal battle with author Philip Roth and the exhibition it inspired in Miami, his monument to Christopher Walken in Queens, NY and the Southwest inspired sculptures he is working on while in residence at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Tucson. When not living in the U.S., Zanisnik resides in Sweden and will speak about his research into European mushrooms and the work it is inspiring in Stockholm.
