Banda Calaca: Dia de los Muertos Altar

Mexico’s traditional Dia de los Muertos celebration is represented the Tucson Museum of Art with the mixed media installation, “Banda Calaca,” a community memorial altar created by Tucson artist Hank Tusinski. The display features a large-scale, seven-piece skeleton band marching toward an altar whose central element refers ancient Mexican beliefs about the cycle of life/death/rebirth. Bring your family and enjoy the rich, cultural artwork, at Tucson Museum of Art.
