Artist Statement:

My encounter with New York City as a newly arrived art student in 1968 was a miraculous transformation that took place almost instantly, with rapid growth that defined my vision for the rest of my career in art.

Viewing the Apollo 11 moon landing on an huge screen in Central Park in the summer of 1969 was an epiphany, a solidifying factor for my creative message, as this breakthrough in space exploration was unfolding. It had that unique element in our history as a unifying force for World Peace and an understanding of how our life on Earth can be positively affected.

My challenge at the time was to create a universal visual language of expression, that can connect with the human race, through an abstract format. Geometry, with its elegance in line and shape, an absolute truth plus color can play the main evocative role, responding to human emotion, which transcends borders and cultures.

It was a great time for personal growth, a process that never stopped.

Meet the Artist! There will be an Artist Reception from 1-3 pm on November 5th in the Children’s Meeting Room.
