DOWNTOWNS Around the Globe Culinary tour moves on to Florianópolis, Brazil, Demonstration Class and Pop up Dinner at the Carriage House

The annual DOWNTOWNS Around the Globe Culinary Tour of four international sister Cities of Gastronomy is ongoing at DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails through November 13th.  The next stop on the tour will feature a special menu based on the cuisine of Florianópolis, Brazil, which was named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy in 2014.  The new menu will be available (along with the regular dinner menu) at DOWNTOWN Kitchen + Cocktails July 18 through August 21st.
Located both on Santa Catarina Island and on the mainland, Florianópolis is a thriving destination known for its perfect beaches, excellent surfing, amazing seafood, 16th-century colonial fortresses and relaxed markets and parks

For those interested in getting an early preview of this tour, Chef Devon Sanner, Executive Chef at the Carriage House, will lead a cooking class on Friday, July 21st.  Guests will learn about the culinary history as well as recipes for select dishes from the Florianópolis, menu. Following the class, attendees will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and a four course dinner paired with wine  see menu below).
