Lecture: The Spanish Patriots of the American Revolution

March 2 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

| $5

Event Navigation

Many people are not aware that Spain and many of its citizens living in the New World assisted in the American Revolution. Letty Rodella has researched this topic for several years and has presented it at several Daughters of the American Revolution meetings, at genealogical and historical meetings and at conferences throughout California.  The presentation covers three areas:

  • A brief background history of the involvement and contributions by the Spanish Government
  • Notable Spaniards who played important roles in assisting colonists in their fight for independence, including Spanish Presidio Soldiers living along the borderland states from Florida to California.
  • Various resources, books and online sites that identify many of these Spanish Patriots

The lecture is offered by the Presidio Museum and will be held on March 2 at 2 pm at the Dusty Monk Pub, 201 N. Court Ave.  Cost is $5 paid at the door.
