Event Navigation

Arts Foundation knows just how important public art is to our community: locals and visitors alike contact us regularly to tell us how much they love specific pieces, that they’d like to participate on a community panel to review public art, or that there is an issue with a beloved piece in their neighborhood.

That’s why we’re proud to present Making Public Art Conservation Real: The City of Tucson’s Public Art Collection, a lecture on May 6, featuring Rosa Lowinger, Principal of RLA Conservation, the firm which just completed an assessment of the City of Tucson’s public art collection and its maintenance needs.

Learn more about the more than 100 pieces in the City’s collection, and hear what kind of conservation needs are unique to our desert climate. Presented in collaboration with University of Arizona’s College of Fine Arts, Arts Foundation is pleased to offer this lecture which is free and open the public. Seating is limited, so please RSVP to learn more about how we can preserve our public art collection for future generations.

This lecture is presented in partnership with University of Arizona School of Fine Arts. The City of Tucson Public Art Maintenance Report developed by RLA Conservation was funded by the City of Tucson, and Southwestern Foundation for Education and Historical Preservation, with additional support from Visit Tucson.
