Metalworking: Xerocraft Engineering Learning Lab (X-ELL)

This is a five-day session (8am to noon each day) which will focus on invention, fabrication and construction techniques with metal. We will work with metal forming techniques of bending, shaping, welding, forging, brazing, riveting and screw assembly. We will provide an overview of equipment safe use and introductory use of presses, drills, grinders, welders, mill and lathe. As an introductory class on metal work, the goal is to expose the students to the proper use of power equipment and show what it can do. Each student will construct a table or a shelf out of metal that they will take home. For creative young people ages 11+.
