Paris Blues

October 6 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

| Free

The UA Hanson Film Institute and the Fred Fox School of Music present a FREE screening of the 1961 classic film Paris Blues, with an introduction by jazz curator Keith Pawlak. Featuring an Oscar-nominated score by Duke Ellington and a rambunctious cameo by Louis Armstrong, Paris Blues is a tribute to jazz. Set in Paris in the 1960s, the film stars Paul Newman and Sidney Poitier as American musicians who must decide between their artistic integrity in the city of lights and the call to return home. Part of Music + Festival 2017.
