Snapshot Memoir Writing

October 8 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

| Free

When we study old pictures up close, and consider the details—facial expressions, environment and composition—long-forgotten stories creep back. In this class we capture those memories by practicing ‘flash creative nonfiction,’ the shortest form of memoir-writing. Simple exercises help us begin to transform photographic stories into a brief, potent essay.

Includes a short lecture, writing practice and discussion. For all adult writers.

Please bring three of your older, printed family photographsany size – that stand out to you for particular reasons. These will likely picture you and/or your close family members, backgrounds with a variety of details, unique architecture/natural environments, or certain “moods” that intrigue you. All photos should have a strong personal significance to you and be at least 10 years old. Black and white or color photos work equally well. For more information, visit www.traci-moore.com.

Registration is required. Register online or call 520-791-4010.
