The Elusive Self in Life and Death

November 11, 2015 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

| Free

Shaun Nichols, professor in the Department of Philosophy, spent months in India exploring attitudes toward death among Hindus and Tibetan Buddhists. Because Buddhists believe there is no enduring self throughout biological life, they should be less afraid of death. But are they? His findings may surprise you.

This lecture is part of the UA College of Social and Behavioral Sciences’ Downtown Lecture Series on “immortality.”

Free tickets at the Fox Tucson Theatre ticket booth (in front of the theater) starting at 4:00pm on the day of each lecture. For more information visit http://downtownlectures.arizona.edu/.
