About this Cafe: The once abundant life in the Sea of Cortez, one of the planet’s most treasured ecosystems, is at risk. The only hope for a sustainable future rests in a collective effort to save the Sea, including everyone from fishermen to students to tourists. For the past 40 years, CEDO, the Intercultural Center for the Study of Deserts and Oceans, a binational environmental organization based in Puerto Penasco, Mexico, and Tucson, has been working collaboratively to achieve a healthy and sustainable Sea of Cortez. Today, hundreds of thousands of stewards are making a difference. But is it enough? Find out in this Café presentation from CEDO’s leader, Peggy Turk-Boyer.
