Event Navigation

Sonoran Glass School (SGS) welcomes Beau Barrett as part of their Visiting Artist Lecture series. Join us in welcoming Beau Barrett for a discussion of his work and a slideshow presentation by the artist.

Beau Barrett has been working glass for over 20 years. He is always looking to learn new techniques, discover new designs and execute ideas that express a love for the pursuit of knowledge, form, nature, pattern and color. He primarily works with borosilicate glass with a primary focus on hollow blown beads, expressive vessels, and drinkware.

Beau Barrett’s lecture will be October 18, 6-7:30pm. The event is open to the public. A $5 donation is requested. (Sonoran Glass School members are free.) The lecture will be held at Sonoran Glass School, 633 W. 18th St. Registration is not required. Light refreshments will be provided.

Saturday and Sunday, October 19 and 20, Sonoran Glass School will host Beau Barrett’s workshop, Beau Barrett – Evolution of Blown Boro Beads and Small Scale Tubing Techniques. The workshop will begin with a focus on the key fundamentals of working with borosilicate glass tubing and how to create nicely shaped blown boro beads. It will also cover more advanced pattern, color, and shaping techniques. For more information on the workshop and space availability email bronwen@sonoranglass.org.
