Road Closures

  • ROAD CLOSED: Friday, January 17 through Monday, January 20, STONE AVENUE between Ochoa Street and Corral Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic. The road closure will begin at 6:00 a.m. on January 17. The sidewalk on the west side of Stone Avenue (in front of St. Augustine Cathedral) will remain open to pedestrians while the east sidewalk will be closed. Stone will reopen on Tuesday, January 21. This closure is necessary for the contractor to erect a tower crane at the Hilton Hotel at Cathedral Square project (141 S. Stone Avenue).
  • ROAD CLOSED: Saturday, January 18, 6TH AVENUE between 12th Street and 13th Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic. The road closure will begin at 5:30 a.m. and reopen by 5:00 p.m. The sidewalks on both sides of 6th Avenue will remain open to pedestrians. This is a special event road closure for the free Zoom Zoom event at Children’s Museum Tucson (200 S. 6th Avenue).
  • ROAD CLOSED: Sunday, January 19 and Monday, January 20 TOOLE AVENUE between 6th Avenue and Congress Street/4th Avenue AND 5TH AVENUE between Congress Street and Toole Avenue will be closed to all vehicular traffic. The road closure will begin at 5:00 a.m. on January 19. The sidewalks on all roads will remain open to pedestrians. Access to the Depot Plaza Garage will remain open during the events. Roads will reopen on Monday, January 20 starting at 8:00 p.m. This closure is for two special events: Dillinger Days Reenactments at Hotel Congress (January 19) and the Tucson Jazz Festival, Downtown Jazz Fiesta (January 20).
  • LANE CLOSED: Monday, January 20 starting at 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. BROADWAY BOULEVARD between Stone Avenue and Scott Avenue will be reduced to one travel lane. The right travel lane and the bus/streetcar lane on Broadway Boulevard will remain open during road work. The eastbound left lane merge on Broadway will start between Church and Stone. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians. All parking garage/lot entrances and exits in the area will remain open. Commuters will experience some traffic delays while road work takes place and traffic control flaggers are in the area.
    ROAD CLOSED: On the same day and hours as above, SCOTT AVENUE between Congress Street and Broadway Boulevard will be closed to all vehicular traffic. Sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians.
  • Construction Zone: Church Avenue between Broadway Blvd to Ochoa Street has construction on the west side of the street. Use Caution while traveling north or southbound down Church.
  • The far right travel lane of Stone Avenue between Pennington Street and Broadway Blvd is closed for construction.
