Southern Arizona Heritage and Visitor Center

Contact Information

The Southern Arizona Heritage and Visitor Center is your starting point to discover all that southern Arizona, the Sonoran Desert and the Sky Islands have to offer.

Discover Pima County

Opening soon, the Visitor Center will highlight local events and include exhibits featuring our region’s nature, culture, food, history, water, recreation and innovation. A topographic map, brilliant diorama of the Sonoran desert, theatre and gallery will introduce new places and provide inspiration to guide your journey.

Housed inside the iconic Historic Pima County Courthouse which first opened in 1929, the Visitor Center is well-positioned to welcome locals and visitors beginning their adventure in downtown Tucson. The county is in discussions with the University of Arizona and the Tucson Museum of Art to house exhibits; there will be a new café, and a memorial to the victims of the 2011 Tucson shooting.

The Southern Arizona Heritage and Visitor Center will be open daily from 10AM to 5PM. The exact opening date will be posted here as soon as the details are finalized. Please check back for updates and thank you for your support.
