Historic Landmarks

As one of the oldest continually inhabited areas in the country, Downtown Tucson has no shortage of history. We are home to unique architecture, religious shrines said to yield healing powers and numerous culturally significant sites.

Experience the sites on this map through the Turquoise Trail, a 2 ½ mile loop through downtown Tucson that highlights structures and sites of historic interest and is marked by a turquoise stripe on the sidewalk. It begins at the Presidio Museum, located at the northeast corner of the original Presidio San Agustin del Tucson, founded in 1775.
